Michael Tarrant reports from the Australian Titles in Queensland....

"Just completed my first Australian Title & what a great event it was....

The organizers put on a superb 2 day competition event with enough classes to satisfy all possible riders, conditions were hot and dry so turned out to be quite a physically testing one. The top class, the Open Class, had the added bonus of a number of overseas riders that stopped off on their way down to the Super Trials, these included Michael Brown, Dan Clark, James Dabill, Ben Hemmingway, Christian Kregelon, Shaun Morris and Juan Pons... Along with the local Australian star riders, including defending champion Colin Zarczynski, this made up an impressive field to tackle the demanding course....

..

..

... Each day had a set of different sections that were 2 loops of 15 sections and was set in a dry gully consisting of huge bolders with plenty of splats & jumps required to get through. They proved quite testing even for the european riders taking a number of points off them. Dan Clark bravely gave it his best shot, but injuries from the big get off in the Scott Trial proved too much and had to call it a day. Michael brown lead the field on Day 1, then Shaun Morris put in a blistering last lap "clean" on Day 2, the only rider to manage it and took the title at the end."

Final Results....

1st Shaun Morris 18

2nd Michael Brown 23

3rd Juan Pons 34

4th James Dabill 36

5th Ben Hemmingway 81

6th Colin Zarczynski 89

Thanks Michael for the report and pictures...

Not again....

Andy Chalkley visited our shores again last week, bit of a last minute do but I managed to get him back out on the GasGas again the day before he left for Perth!! As you can see he is into the arena trials sections now.. and also retro trials clothing. A 1980's Nova helmet and Patriotic jacket were borrowed from his brother here in the uk so he could come and play after a week of visiting relatives and trying to show his brother how his new software works!!

I took him into BVM trials dealership after the ride... they have over 20 secondhand bikes in stock and a huge selection of spares and clothing, he said it was a bit bigger than most trials dealers back home.... all put together!!

... All those in Western Australia take a close look at these pictures!! I know there may only be a couple of people who may recognise this face..... It is Andy Chalkley, your Only Sherco dealer in W.A. ... with a gasgas shirt on!!

It is amazing this internet thing, 2 months ago i had no idea who Andy was but I came across his website (yesmoto) whilst looking for some Italjet info.. I emailed him and made sure it was ok if i put a link for his site on here and it turns out that not only is he coming to the UK for Christmas but he will be 7 miles away from me!! That was that sorted, he had to have a ride whilst he was here... as I was out of action due to work injury my bike was spare and the Kingswood club had a trial on near Bristol. He had his own crash hat, boots and jeans... but no tops. That is how come he is in GasGas colours.

Andy has sent me some photos from the brilliant trials park they have put together near Perth.. see them here

Sherco and almost everything else trials...
