This
is what I have been looking forward to seeing, the Top
Trial Team Beta clothing. As worn by James Dabil and
Michael Brown last season. Here we have the team issue
Jeans and the microfibre fleece riding top, ideal for
this time of the year to keep the chill out without being
too bulky.
Pete at JCtrials can do you the pair for £134
including post and packing... use the on&off logo's on this
page to contact him.

..... Thanks to the newest
On&Off dealer, JC
Trials, I have a full riding kit to try out...
and an offer for some nice gloves.
... These gloves have been used for about
2 months and are extremely comfortable, they don't have
the traditional velcro flap at the wrist which I often
find sticks to your shirt cuff or comes undone easily.
These have a sort of neoprene cuff that stretches for
entry and then sits snugg against the wrist.
The gloves don't have padding all over
them, just a small double layer on the thumb area and
a small gel area on the palm... as can be seen in the
picture here. The colour is a grey/blue with black stripe
and you can order a pair direct from Pete at JCTrials
for £19.99
including p&p and Vat. Available
in sizes m/l/xl/xxl
He also has Neoprene gloves
in black (see below) for £25.99
including p&p and Vat. Available
in sizes l/xl... use the on&off logo on the
right to see contact details for Pete.

The Full riding
kit, jacket, shirt and jeans.......
... Firstly i apologise
about the model wearing the clothing here, I had just
come back from a 5 hour play up at the quarry and was
knackered!!!!
The top I have on here (right) is the M113.346. It is more like a
smock really, you have a half zip and you pull it over your head and it also
has velcro adjusting straps around the wrists to keep the weather and crud
out. The zip is long enough to enable me to pull it over whilst wearing a crash
hat.. It is made from a breathable material rathing than that rubbery type
that the old Hebo ones were. This means you don't get soaked by perspiration
within 5 minutes, but it keeps the wind and chill out and appears shower proof,
but I have not tested that yet!!It has two small areas just above the waist
that are elasticated so that it does billow out in the breeze, it allows the
bottom half free movement around the top of your legs so it doesn't feel restrictive.
I went up on top of the Cotswolds today for 5 hours and it was still frosty
in places all day and I stayed nice and warm without getting overheated...
and I also had some large contacts with trees and a couple of rocky slides
and it is unmarked. So far top marks... lightweight, comfortable and ideal
for cold rides.
The jeans are the M118.346 (right
and below) .... now some of you may remember that
Barry had a bad experience with some previous On&Off
jeans, they ripped first time out and lasted about
3 rides in total before being thrown in the bin!!!...
I am glad to say that these are the better quality,
thicker jeans. And they a very comfortable thanks mainly
to the Elastam crotch area. This allows maximum movement
without crunching up and the inner knee/ leg area has
a Kevlar insert to protect from rubbing against the
bike. The knee is also lightly padded... enough for
gentle knocks without restricting movement.
A neat feature is the wast band... it has a silicon type bead running around
the inside which grips against whatever is underneath to stop the back sliding
down and causing baggy arse syndrome!! The Logos are dyed into the fabric and
once again the jeans survived the rock and tree contact. At the end of the
day I slid down a 15 foot section of quarry face and used myself to stop the
bike getting scratched!!!... both Top and Jeans shrugged this contact off,
which is more than be said for my elbow!!!
The riding shirt (below
left and right) is a replica of the jacket colours
and is made from a nice lightly vented material. It
has a lower back so it doesn't ride up out of the jeans
to show "builders Bum" when crouching. The
neck is high but very comfortable and soft and all
the seams are flat and don't rub into you....
All in all my first impressions
are very good, well made and nice designs... the colours
I have on here will suit the new 2007 Beta very well
I feel. And the best news is that the TopTrial Team Beta
clothing and Cabestany Sherco team colours will be available
very soon.
If you want more details
and perhaps a bit of a deal if you buy the set of 3 as
seen here contact Pete via email ... JCPRINTINFO or
click on the logo below to visit his site.....
** Update** ...
it all came out of the washing machine as good as new!! |

I will be testing this kit over the next few weeks
in various weather and riding conditions and will add
any other thoughts as and when.
Thanks to Pete Culliford for the opportunity to try
these Items, Please mention r2wtrials if you contact
him and say you saw it on here..... |
